Then, we applied the KPIs to a customer, turned that data set into code and voila, you have a visualization! for Intuitive we determined that having a service portal Yes/No or Agent Workspace Yes/No would definitely influence flow. We started filling in the parameters of each KPI, e.g. How we did that? Earlier research into flow yielded us 6 KPIs that create flow in work: Intuitive-Instant-Integrated-Informed-Intelligent-Improved. Together with the artists from Creative Coding Utrecht, we visualized flow through code to be able to monitor how well work flows at our customers. PS: Yes, this integration has already been built by ServiceNow but their solution requires a Twilio account. And the best thing is: what goes for employees also applies to fulfillers! They can also approve requests via WhatsApp, either push-based where you receive an approval notification or per request by messaging which open approvals are left. Messaging is encrypted and it is connected to your telephone number, which is unique. Since everybody uses WhatsApp, this mobile service solution is fast, easy and secure. In a previous hackathon, we already built a feature that could read expense receipts, so if you now send your receipt via WhatsApp, it will be automatically converted into a reimbursement request using OCR (Optical Character Recognition), you check and confirm, and you’re done! Also, logging IT incidents like this is super convenient when you’re remote and your computer breaks down which means you cannot access the service portal via desktop. Subsequently, at the 6th edition of UIC World Congress on Rail Training (WCRT), Xin Ling, Director of the Office of Development at Tianyou Railway Institute, delivered a keynote speech on the experience of SWJTU in international railway training, which was well received by all.ServiceNow Virtual Agent - WhatsApp integrationĮverything you’d normally do in a ServiceNow service portal, you can now do via WhatsApp! Request a holiday, write time, log an IT incident, etc. In the final, SWJTU continued to fulfill its duty as the vice corporate chair of UIC TrainRail, engaged in designing the organizational framework, compiled the evaluation documents and forms, and dispatched two experts to act as judges at the final. Three award-winning teams included the SWJTU one competed in the world final online on behalf of the Asia-Pacific Region. This event was sponsored by International Rail Education & Training Board (TrainRail) of UIC and supervised by the Education Alliance of the Belt and Road International Railway Talents and the Joint Research Center of the Belt and Road International Science and Technology Organization. ![]() ![]() In December 2021, Southwest Jiaotong University hosted the UIC TrainRail hackathon for the Asia-Pacific Region in Chengdu, China. CASTOR/OCAD DESIGN HACK EVENT with event info and photograph of 3D sculptures. Focusing on the theme of “How can railways be resilient in the face of pandemics?”, a total of 7 teams selected from Europe, Africa, the Middle East, and Asia-Pacific region participated in this final after fierce competitions. This one-day Design Hack event, happening February 6th. Through the project presentation and on-site defense, SWJTU team secured the “Highly Recommended” prize with its “Virtual Railway Experience Solution” in the worldwide final of the first TrainRail Hackathon of the International Union of Railways (UIC) held at the UIC headquarters in Paris, France on November 29, 2022. ![]()
